Tuition is paid for 10 months covering the school year, due by the first of each month. Siblings receive a 10% discount. Summer camp tuition has a weekly fee.

Redbud offers tuition assistance to families who need it, funded almost entirely by our annual auction and community donations.
Applications are due in late February for the following school year, and the funds are committed once decisions are made. If tuition is what's standing between your family and Redbud, raise it early — August is too late to ask about the year that starts in September.

how to apply
Three steps.
01 / Visit
Come see the school on an ordinary morning. We encourage you to bring your child.
02 / Review
If you are interested in enrolling your child, we'll send you the enrollment packet to review.
03 / Welcome
After reviewing all of the information in the enrollment packet, and you decide to move forward with the enrollment process, a non-refundable deposit of 1/10th of the yearly tuition will be due along with a non-reundable $75 registration fee. The deposit will be used toward the following June’s tuition.
Frequently asked questions.

Yes, for the most part. Children start at 2½ and need to be out of diapers. If they are still perfecting their skills, we will take them to the bathroom to try every hour or so as needed. Please bring extra underwear and clothes.

We follow the Davis school district calendar, plus a few days of our own. Across the year we’re closed for about seven weeks — a week in June, two before school starts, Thanksgiving week, two at winter break, and one in spring.

Every family chooses a large job and a small job that equals 100%. Families with two or more children enrolled have a 150% commitment. These jobs equal about 35 hours over the school year. You choose your jobs from a list, and many are built for parents who work full time. Every family also donates one auction item per child each spring.

No, and it isn't a free-for-all either. Children choose their work within a prepared environment, with clear expectations about how to treat the room and each other.

No. Redbud is a secular, independent nonprofit.

Children bring lunch from home and eat outside at the picnic tables. If they'd like something warm, a teacher will heat it up. The yellow group children nap or rest in the afternoon; the older ones don't, unless they choose to nap.

There's a $25 annual fee per child to join it, and your interest is renewed each January. When a spot opens in your child's group, we get in touch.
