Fundraisers
As a non-profit 501 (C) (3) tax-exempt,
non-profit school, Redbud is fortunate to be able to participate in various
"fundraising made simple" fundraisers.
Our most profitable fundraising venture
is our annual auction. There is a silent and live auction held on our
grounds. Auction-goers have the opportunity to bid on professional and
personal services, culinary delights, vacation homes, sporting equipment,
gift certificates, and many other wonderful surprises donated by local
businesses and Redbud family and friends. Babysitting services (sorry, no
infants!) at the school is provided for a nominal fee on a first-come
basis. The auction raises over $10,000 each year. Auction funds may be used to replenish our
scholarship fund, Montessori materials, staff development and our building
fund.
Another profitable fundraising venture
is Escrip. Escrip is a "low-key" way of contributing to the
school. At no charge to you, Redbud receives a percentage, bimonthly, of
your Safeway purchases and purchases from other participating stores. This
is a successful way for Redbud to automatically increase its fundraising
dollars. Escrip registration by Redbud families and friends is increasing
and we're excited with its success for the school.

Paper Scrip, from the Great Lakes Scrip
Center, is a
fundraiser for Redbud that we have been participating in for several years.
We raise about $1,000 each year in paper scrip profits. Scrip is a gift
certificate from a particular store that is used the same as cash. When you
order scrip, Redbud receives a percentage from the store; but you receive
the face value of the scrip ordered. Order forms are due by the first Wednesday
of the month and your scrip is delivered by the following Friday. We
normally have Davis Food Coop scrip in $20 increments, $20 Peet's Coffee
and Tea gift cards, $25 Starbucks gift cards, $10 Jamba Juice cards and Dos
Coyotes scrip in $5.00 increments at the school that you can purchase
daily.
Redbud has a Friendship Club mail box
for receipt collection at the Covell Blvd. Nugget Market. After shopping at Nugget you may place
your receipt in the mail box and we receive a percentage of your purchase
as a donation from Nugget Market. The
Friendship Club is valid during the school year only. Nugget also has a scrip card at the store
that you can load with money for your purchase and designate Redbud as the
donation recipient.
Redbud is also a proud participant in
Target Stores "Take Charge of Education" program. If you apply or
already have a Target Guest Card, (a credit card issued by Retailers
National Bank), please designate Redbud Montessori as your school of choice
and we will receive a 1% donation of your purchase price.
All of these fundraisers benefit the
school and your children directly. The
playground, carpeting, chairs, sofas and many Montessori materials have
been purchased with the generous fundraising dollars donated by our
parents, staff and friends. Thank you in advance for your continued
